Discover your perfect holiday accommodation in Llubi
Llubi is a small, picturesque Mallorcan town lying snugly between two hills about 28 miles to the north east of the capital Palma. The good news is that there is a fast, efficient train link with Sa Pobla, and more importantly, the capital, Palma.
Llubi is virtually untouched by tourism and its sleepy nature attracts many holidaymakers looking for a delightful holiday home to rent, seemingly a world away from the busier areas of the island.
Llubi is a fine example of an historic traditional Mallorcan agricultural town. (It’s actually renowned for its cultivation of capers!). Many of the town’s houses are built from lovely old Mallorcan stone; some available to rent as holiday accommodation.
One of the main attractions in Llubi is the little Hermitage of Sant Crist del Remei. The village's lovely parish church is well worth a visit too.
If you like a bargain, Llubi's weekly market is held in the Plaza de la Carretera every Tuesday.
Just when you're beginning to think that nothing too exciting ever happens in Llubi, you may be surprised to discover that the municipality is famous for its fiestas!
Take the Fiesta of the Siurell for instance. Here a giant "Siurell" or demon-shaped whistle is ceremonially burnt, and on the Saturday that follows, a colourful carnival procession can be witnessed.
In Llubi on the first Tuesday after Easter, the Fiesta of the Hermitage takes place. The crowd proceed to the Hermitage of Sant Crist del Remei, where a mass is held.
Once the church service is over it's party time! Games are organised for children, humongous amounts of paella are cooked, there's a clay pigeon shoot, and then all this is followed by the celebrated "ball de bot" dances. The evening comes to an end with a huge community barbeque amongst much partying.
Come summer time and it's time to honour Llubi's patron saint, Sant Feliu. This particular fiesta is held over a period of five days and on the last day of July, a colourful carnival procession featuring giant puppets with huge heads parades around town.
A firework display finishes off the evening in style, and the following day sees more processions, various races and a variety of traditional dances.
If that's not enough, a delightful winter fair is held in the Llubi church square and surrounding streets on the first Tuesday following the festival of Santa Catalina.
As you can imagine, Llubi is high on the list of holidaymakers looking for a bit of peace and quiet in a traditional Mallorcan setting far from the madding crowd.
So whether you’re looking to rent a fabulous holiday villa for family and friends, or a lovely old townhouse for a well-earned romantic break, we at Balearic Villas would be happy to help you find your dream rental property in Llubi.
After all, with years of experience, vast local knowledge and a wide range of luxury holiday villas, townhouses and apartments available to rent, we are perfectly placed to ensure you enjoy the holiday of a lifetime.
