Discover your perfect holiday accommodation in Bunyola
Bunyola is a pretty, traditional Mallorcan town lying snugly in the shadow of the Serra de Tramuntana mountains. Its sleepy nature attracts many holidaymakers looking for a delightful holiday home to rent, seemingly a world away from the major tourist areas of the island.
One of the major advantages of Bunyola is its location. Nestling cosily in the heart of the beautiful Mallorcan countryside, it is only a short 10-mile drive (or bus ride) by major road to the capital city, Palma, and its international airport.
There is also a regular rail link to Palma on the fabulous vintage tram which winds its way across the fertile plain of central Mallorca. To be seated in one of the vintage mahogany and brass carriages is like being transported into the past (they date from 1912). What a superb way to admire the breathtaking scenery!
Just think: holidaying in Bunyola, one minute you can be relaxing in the peace and tranquillity of this delightful old town, and the next enjoying all the culture and leisure activities provided by the lively capital city.
As you can imagine, Bunyola is high on the list of holiday makers looking for that special holiday villa to rent on the island of Mallorca.
Bunyola itself is so peaceful and has lost none of its traditional charm. Although located on the flat Mallorcan plain, it is surrounded by the impressively rugged Tramuntana mountains, offering lots of hiking and exploring activities.
The fact is, Bunyola is one of the few untouched Mallorcan villages that still exist on the island. It’s also a great central base with which to explore the rest of Mallorca. There are some delightful traditional bars and restaurants to enjoy too.
Another reason to rent your dream holiday property in Bunyola is the proximity of two fabulous stately homes complete with gardens which are open to the public.
The first, Raixa, was once the country estate of an eighteenth century Cardinal. You’ll find beautiful terraced gardens here carved out of the hillside, as well as an elegant country home to explore.
The other ‘must do’ property is the Gardens of Alfabia. A couple of miles to the north of Bunyola, Alfabia’s terraced gardens are an absolute delight full of jasmine, wisteria, beautiful flowers, water lilies, palm tress and even a hand-operated water feature.
Alfabia’s ‘hacienda’ building and gatehouse (once the property of a Moorish grandee) are no less impressive, with a mixture of antiques, old maps, and a huge, ancient olive press.
Some may choose to rent a holiday property in Bunyola so as to be able to enjoy the countryside, culture and heritage of the area. Others may simply crave the peace and tranquillity provided by this ancient Mallorcan town. It’s a good choice to have!
So whether you’re looking to rent a fabulous holiday villa for family and friends, or a lovely old townhouse for a well-earned romantic break, we at Balearic Villas would be happy to help you find your dream rental property in Bunyola.
After all, with years of experience, vast local knowledge and a wide range of luxury holiday villas, townhouses and apartments available to rent, we are perfectly placed to ensure you enjoy the holiday of a lifetime.
