Hiring a Boat on Mallorca
Once you have settled in to your luxury villa rented from Balearic Villas, you may decide you would like to spend some time at sea, and soak up the wonderful views of the island from a different perspective.
There are several options for the hiring of boats on Mallorca, from going on an organised trip to hiring a boat yourself. These are:
- Speedboats that will comfortably hold 4 people, for you to take out on your own to discover some of the many hidden coves and beaches along the coast, some of which are only accessible from the sea.
- Sailing boats for a perfect relaxing day out. Often the crew provides you with lunch either on board or in a picturesque bay somewhere on the island.
- Yachts for charter – you can be spoilt whilst at sea, while the captain handles the yacht, and the crew looks after you and anyone else on board. Or of course, you can captain the yacht yourself.
- Banana boats for families or groups. These hover over the water, and are said to give a pure adrenaline rush.
These are just a few; the amount of different types of boats available on Mallorca is enormous. There are glass-bottomed boats, fishing boats, tornado boats, motor cruisers, and boats with wheelchair access and facilities. All very reasonably priced and well cared for.
All captains are properly trained and not allowed to operate a boat without the correct licenses and qualifications. They always have an extensive knowledge of the boat and their destinations, and will happily show you some of the prettiest parts of the island.
Whilst travelling round the island by boat you will discover many coves that have caves to explore, beautiful sea to swim in and lovely sandy beaches to lie on. If you are not lunching on the boat, some of the solitary bays have traditional Mallorcan restaurants serving food to suit everyone’s pallet.
Alternatively, try a boat trip to one of the other Balearic Isles of Menorca or Ibiza. Ferries run in the day from Palma de Mallorca and there are three sorts, depending on how quick you want your journey to be. There are a few standard ferries left, but more of the quicker boats, which are either catamarans or fast ferries. A standard ferry will take five and a half hours for the trip to Ibiza, a fast ferry will take two and a half, and the catamaran will be even faster.
What are you waiting for?
Boating is just one of the many attractions the Balearic Isles has to offer, and no matter if you rent your villa from Balearic Villas in Mallorca, Menorca or Ibiza, it is a pastime that is enjoyed by many.
