Snorkelling When Staying At One Of Our Holiday Villas

Published in Activities

If you’re planning a family holiday in Mallorca, you may be planning a visit to one of the many beautiful blue flag beaches found on the island.

There are a number of water sports to enjoy during a beach day out, with snorkelling being one of the most popular. You can rent equipment from beach vendors or bring your own, and delve into the warm Mediterranean waters to discover the pretty corals, fish, and other marine life that lie beneath. Whether you’re planning a day out to one of the busier tourist beaches or want to escape to a quieter, calmer area, there is plenty of snorkelling to be found throughout the island. With a stay in one of our holiday villas in Mallorca, you’re never far from some of the most beautiful spots to discover:

Cala San Vincente

Cala San Vincente is a small village located towards the northeast of the island. We have many holiday villas in the area. Here, there are a number of small coves and picturesque beaches from which you can snorkel. The smallest beach, Cala Clara, can be rocky in parts, but is often popular with snorkelers as there are plenty of crabs and coral to spot.

Puerto Pollensa

Already a popular destination for family holidays in Mallorca, Puerto Pollensa offers lots in the way of snorkelling and scuba diving. Many boats can be chartered from here, some of which provide complimentary snorkelling gear for you to explore the waters further from the shore.

Cala Varques (Cala Barques)

This isolated, quiet beach is ideal for snorkelling. Easily reachable from Manacor or Felanitx, Cala Varques is home to calm, crystal clear waters, making it the perfect place to examine the underlying fish and wildlife.

Playa de Muro

If you are renting a holiday villa in Alcudia, you’re not far from the popular blue flag beach of Playa de Muro. The shallow waters make it an ideal place to take children snorkelling, the bright turquoise hue of which is especially warm and inviting.

Cala Llombards

This beach doesn’t receive a great deal in the way of tourist traffic, and is therefore a popular snorkelling spot with families staying in local holiday villas in Santanyi. The shallow clear water surrounded by the overlooking cove makes it the ideal place to snorkel amongst natural beauty.
